Halloween Costume Party

Aravilla Sarasota residents celebrating HalloweenHalloween is one of our favorite holidays at Aravilla Sarasota. This year Diana made Chocolaty “ghost thow up” (a chexmix) to go with her green spooky eyeball and witch finger punch. Sounds crazy but I can assure you everyone loved it. It was delicious.

The party was a real scream, and I’m not just saying that because Joey’s Uncle Fester impression was spot on. Almost everyone donned a costume, and let me tell you, we had it all. Cruella Deville and her dalmatian, the Wizard of Oz crew, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, and even some hippies who crashed the party. Oh, and our resident priests, nuns, Greek goddesses, Betty Boop, and witches – talk about a motley crew! We had an absolute blast, as per usual. And Joey, our musical mastermind, brought the house down with his spooky tunes and regular faves. I have no idea how we’ll outdo ourselves next year, but I’m sure we’ll conjure up something!

Key Chorale at Aravilla Sarasota!

Aravilla Sarasota Memory Care residents and Key ChoraleAravilla Sarasota is thrilled to announce its partnership with Key Chorale, a renowned choir dedicated to bringing uplifting experiences for our residents and care partners. We look forward to Key Choral to bring people together through music and joy. We have launched an 8-week program at Aravilla, featuring weekly visits from Maestro Caulkins and Key Chorale’s volunteer singers. Our inaugural session was a resounding success. Our residents were actively participating and singling along. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. memory care residents follow the lyrics in her song bookThe Key Chorale volunteers supplied music and lyric books for all the participants, making it an easy task to engage in the experience. They paired with residents to ensure that everyone stayed on track. Our residents easily followed the materials, tapping their feet and singing with enthusiasm.  Our first session was all the talk for the next few days. We are excited for our future sessions. We would also like to encourage you to come and join your loved one during one of these sessions. You can find us singing in the Atrium on Thursdays at 1:30 pm at Aravilla Memory Care.

Lunch Bunch Trips

Lunch Bunch trips are so much fun! We are always excited to get to go on these lunch outings. Wednesdays we will be taking a group of residents out to lunch. We usually visit different restaurants around town. We will take turns every week to give everyone a chance to go on an outing. No need to sign up, we will keep everyone in mind on the bus outing rotation. Diana or Nataly will let you know when you are scheduled. Grab a light jacket and be ready to enjoy a tasty meal.
