Tis the Season
Holiday decorations are almost done. Our residents have been busy helping decorate our 6 Christmas trees and the rest of the building. They are all so pretty and different. Be sure to stop by and see all of them. We are ready for Christmas Carols, eggnog and all things traditional activities and events that come with the holiday season. One our favorites is the evening tours of the Holiday lights. This is always very fun and exciting and puts us in the holiday spirit. Diana will make sure that everyone gets a chance to go on this tour. Also, we can’t wait to see Santa at the holiday party. December 14th. Don’t miss it!
Baking Goodies!
Bon Appetit! We had such a great time baking. Diana & Nataly decided to bake delicious brownies for cooking class. The word quickly spread though Aravilla. The seats filled fast because both residents and staff wanted to be apart of making and eating these yummy treats. Patricia helped stir the brownie batter until it was just perfect. Once they went in the oven you could smell them down the hallways. This attracted even more people who patiently waited while the brownies baked. After the brownies cooled, Peggy, our official taste tester, approved and everyone was able to enjoy the delicious moist fudge brownies.
Veteran’s Day Celebration
This past November 11th Aravilla celebrated Veterans Day. Our community is honored to have many veterans living right here at Aravilla. We have members of all branches of the military. It was our pleasure to honor them on this special day. We started the day with a patriotic ceremony. The residents quickly crowded the seats in the atrium. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem. One by one We introduced our veterans and which branch of the military they served. Our veterans were gifted beautiful custom made pins made just for them. The other residents along with staff and family members in the crowd thanked them for their service. We read a few poems and finished the ceremony with a patriotic sing-a-long and enjoyed tasty patriotic yogurt parfaits with red strawberries and blueberries. What a wonderful day this was.

Thanksgiving at Aravilla
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, spend time with loved ones and enjoy delicious foods. Chef Carla and our talented dietary department prepared a delicious Thanksgiving feast for everyone here at Aravilla Sarasota to enjoy. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie and all the fixings. It was all too yummy for out tummies. We shared our shared each of our Thanksgiving day traditions with everyone while we waited to have out Thanksgiving day picture taken. Time went by so fast watching everyone pose and smile. It was a wonderful day with all of our friends. Later in the day we enjoyed our live music entertainment with our friend Amandah who played all of our favorite tunes on the piano. It was a great holiday but I think we gained 10lbs each.
